So here's my creation for this Summer challenge

I used various papers from American Crafts Collections - Take Note, Abroad & Amy Tangerine's Yes Please collection. I used the Lacy Ovals and Ovals dies from Spellbinders, blue cherry blossoms from Wild Orchid Crafts, small blue satin roses from Papermania, EK Success' Carnation 3D flower punch and Fiskars' Doily border punch. The image is Summer Mae from Some Odd Girl and the sentiment 'Wish You Were Here' was stamped in Harold's ABC from Lawn Fawn inked in Momento's Tuxedo Black and edged in Momento's Blue Lagoon.

Hope you like my creation. Team A's creations are live on the Aud Sentiments Blog site now, make sure you come back for Team B's creations for more awesome inspiration!

Blogging Everyday in June - Day 2: Summer

Blog every day in June

Day 2: Craft something that has a summer theme

Continuing Kairen's Blogging challenge we're here with Day 2... So to mix it up a little bit, I've created a Summer themed card below:

(Images (c) Kristy Dalman for SomeOddGirl.com)

For this Summer themed card, I used a digital image 'Summery Mae' from Some Odd Girl which I thought suited the theme for Day 2! I have used papers from Dear Lizzy's Neopolitan collection from American Crafts which has a lovely Summer theme to it and has great colourful papers perfect for this! I have used a Kraft cardstock from Papermania as the base, die cut a few sections of the same paper pad and also Amy Tangerine's Yes Please collection from American Crafts - with the Sizzix Tickets Sizzlits and the MFT Doily Dies. I fussy cut some banners at the top of the card from the Dear Lizzy collection and the 'Hello' sentiment is from the Greeting Farm's Hello Go Round sentiment stamps collection. I think it turned out pretty cute and Summery and with the weather in London brightening up, I think it's set to encourage me to enjoy the warmth a bit more! :)

And for a bit of a bonus, the other non-crafty challenge for Day 2:
Tell us all about your favourite craft gadget and why it’s just the bees knees

It has to be for me, this baby below:
It does everything I need it to do, it die cuts, it embosses... it's just everything I really need. I don't own a Slice or a Cameo so for it does the job perfectly for me without the need to plug anything anywhere and it's pretty handy for me to carry around from room to room, so I love it. It's a great crafting tool - I wouldn't say gadget as such because it's too big for a pocket, but it is one of my favourite tools to have in my craft space!

Come back tomorrow for Day 3...

Wish I was on a beach right now (not in rainy London, boo :( ) And with the image above being this week's inspiration, I thought I would go back to remembering times when I was younger (and sometimes even now) of picking up shells on the beach, whether that was on Brighton beach, Eastbourne or Bournemouth. So below I've created this card inspired by shells on the beach...

The image I used is 'Summer Mae' from Some Odd Girl, which I thought was perfect for this card, I coloured her in with some Promarkers: Oatmeal for the skin, Cinnamon for the hair, Cool Grey 4 & Black for the sunglasses and shoes, Azure for the shorts, Rose Pink & Forest Green for the top and either Raw Senna or Caramel for the bag. I totally gotta work more harder on my colouring!
I used a blue and green cardstock from my stash, and the background beach scene is a cartoon 'Summer Beach' from Wallcoo.com (random image through a Google.com search), the shells are from Iconeasy.com (also through a random search on Google.com) which I printed out, cut individually and adhered to the card with foam dots. I also used Prima's En Francais 6 x 6 collection for the emphemera pieces which I fussy cut from a page in that collection to add a bit more interest to the card.

So I hope that you all like my creation, and I hope it inspires you to enter into our (Pin)spirational Challenge this week! Also check out the other cards made by the Pins DT too!

I'm hoping my card with bring some sun to London town! :) Hope so! Thanks for visting! :)
